My name i Jakob Welner. I have 10+ years of experience in Computer Animation and programming, have been playing around with robotics for a while and have recently started expanding my knowledge further through a degree in Mechanical Engineering @ DTU.

I am freelance Jack of Many Trades alongside my studies and usually available for hire through my one-man company: Nutmech.
As I own a 3D-printer I can furthermore provide custom part-design and printing services. Look below.

Summary

[Computer Graphics]: Resume/CV
10 years of professional experience in CG-animation. Worked on multiple animated- and VFX-based feature films and commercials.

Main areas of proficiency are:

  • Creature/Character Animator
  • Pipeline designer/developer
  • Animation TD – Tools R&D in Python/MEL

[Mechanical Engineering]: Course List @ LinkedIn
In 2012 I began my studies for a degree in Mechanical Engineering in order to bridge my interests in animation, software and hardware. Being an animator at heart, my primary focus is still motion and body language, only now the medium has changed.
Current focuses:

  • Production and prototyping through Additive Manufacturing
  • Design theory and techniques for Additive Manufacturing
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Soft-Robotics
  • EMG-controlled soft-exoskeletons without external rigid structure

[Additive Manufacturing – 3D-Printing]:
After having been working with 3D-printers as well as the art of designing for 3D-print for several years, I have bought my own Wanhao Duplicator 4x.

When I am not testing my own designs, the printer is available for hire through my company profile: Nutmech @ 3DHubs
